The Southern Appalachian Conference is a geographic region of play within the Southeast Region. It's geographic scope contains Georgia and the following Tennessee counties:

Anderson, Bledsoe, Blount, Bradley, Campbell, Cannon, Carter, Claiborne, Clay, Cocke, Coffee, Cumberland, Dekalb, Fentress, Franklin, Grainger, Greene, Grundy, Hamblen, Hamilton, Hancock, Hawkins, Jackson, Jefferson, Johnson, Knox, Loudon, McMinn, Macon, Marion, Meigs, Monroe, Morgan, Overton, Pickett, Polk, Putnam, Rhea, Roane, Scott, Sequatchie, Sevier, Smith, Sullivan, Unicoi, Union, Van Buren, Warren, Washington, White
In the 2016 College Season, this conference contained 18 teams with the following breakdown: 10 Men's D-I and 8 Women's D-I.
